 Easy Entry-Level Camera |

This camera is incredibly easy to use, but offers enough advanced features for the average point-and-shoot user. I bought the camera for my older parents who needed a simple camera. I was choosing between the Kodak M1033 and this camera, but decided to go with this camera because it is slightly easier to use. Kodak describes the C series as a line of easy entry-level cameras, and that's definitely true.
PROS:
- Easy for first-time digital camera users
- Large LCD screen
- Large amount of megapixels
- Many "scene" settings pre-programmed for different types of shots
- Very low price
- Compact size
- Plug and play sharing via EasyShare
CONS:
- No viewfinder
- M1033 has a couple extra features (i.e., panoramic stitching)
- Uses AA batteries vs. charger (although this is mitigated by a good set of rechargeable batteries
Buy this camera if you're looking for an affordable, compact, easy to use camera. It will meet the needs of most point-and-shoot users. Do not buy this camera if you're looking to customize your shots beyond pre-programmed settings (i.e., adjustments in ISO, f-stop, shutter speed, etc.), but that should be self-evident, as this is a point-and-shoot. |

I am currently retired from graphic design and photostyling for catalogs, I found the C180 to be a camera I wish I'd had ten years ago. I was amazed to find it has so many settings (it has ISO as well as many other settings for the most fun and practicality.) It also takes videos.
I took it on vacation with me and made some pretty special videos as well as stills. I recommend this to anyone. |

| One thing, is that with a 2 gig chip you can get about 45 min of video. we've stopped using our dedicated camera for video and use this camera, although the quality is not as good. We don't have to buy the video tapes anymore.... |

| i gave this to my granddaughter for her 12th birthday. without reading any instructions she ran outside to use it. in a few minutes she was back with two videos of her friend doing cartwheels. this is one user friendly inexpensive digcam. |

I've bought this camera recently and I love it. I have only two gripes, it uses AA batteries vs. charger and you have to use SD cards, as internal storage is pathetic.
The camera shoots excellent images and does what it is supposed to do excellently. Video is also good.
Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it for anyone looking for an inexpensive camera. |

| I dropped by Easyshare DX7440 so I had to get something real quick while I get the other repaired. The features were not quite the same, but if you read the instructions first instead of thinking you know what you're doing, you will find this to be a great camera for the price. |

I bought this camera as a last minute impulse buy for my boyfriend for Valentines day. I ordered it on Friday evening and paid the extra for next day shipping. It got to my house about 5pm the next day. I was so excited.
I read EVERY review of this camera on here. I was a little worried about the battery life so I bought a ton of batteries just in case. The picture quality is amazing, The features are very fun and very simple to use. The batteries that came with it only lasted about 2 hours. I put fresh Energizer brand batteries in and I was very surprised at how long they lasted. We took several videos at least 3 minutes long or longer and about 60 pictures and they still had about a 1/4 of a charge left. The only thing I agree with everyone on is the lack of an external speaker for the videos is a bummer.
My boyfriend who worked in photography for many years loves it. He plays with it all the time just for fun.
The only tip I have is don't use the cord that comes with the camera to download the pictures. Simply remove the card and download directly off the card to your computer. It will save on your batteries and it cuts the download time in half or more. Im not overly excited about the Kodak software, as I have used it I am getting better at it but I still don't think it is very user friendly.
I would recommend this camera to anyone just wanting to document some fun times and memories with friends. It is a GREAT point and click. |

This is a great little camera for those of us who are not serious photographers. It is fairly simple to use and has features I have yet discovered, I think.
The only negative aspect is the quality of instructions that come with the camera---very minimal but I was able to figure out most techniques through trial and error and having had a "lesser" version" of this camera (which I broke). Batteries are always a challenge. I strongly advise using Utlimate Energizer batteries (lithium) which have a long life although expensive (2-3 bucks). I tried using rechargeable batteries but they were so undependable I gave up and went to the Energizers. Just carry an extra set of batteries with you when you are out picture taking. |
